There has been an executive decision made to pronounce WUGC 2004 in Turku a rocking event. I've absolutely loved the people, the place, and the action. Memorable stuff includes: - Watching all the Australian teams play very well. Most of the teams seem very happy with the results. The open team came third place, and the junior open and mixed teams got spirit. All except for one or two of the junior boys games were superb to watch. The kids have also been fantastic to look after. - Playing in a staff pickup game that finished when it was too dark to play at about 10:30pm (I wish we could do that at Birchgrove). - Jumping the fence of a pool complex for late night swims is the norm. - I may have been lucky, but most of the Finns I've met have been genuinely cool and fun people. They also seem to favour double letters in their names (Inna, Tuuli, Ilkka, Tiina, Jenni (not to be mispronounced as Jenny) etc). I've spent most of my time with the staff - 'tas been fun. - Last night's party seems to have resulted in me getting home a bit late to be bothered going to Helsinki for my flight - hence me being here at the hostel writing emails rather than on a plane to London. I'm fairly drained so can't be bothered writing much, but I'll let it be known that I am very willing to tag along to another worlds tournament, learn Finnish, visit Finland again, and go to Estonia for a barbecue. I'll bring the cider. Hooray! Wally Brad - It seems Andorus is famous the world over. Yvonne Shepherd knows Nick and has heard about his awesome band. Peter W - I have been doing a lot of talking to people, with some not talking to people just to make it interesting.
