230. Terrigal Towel XXII

The first day was a bit too windy. There were upwind points, but not that many, and the games were high turnover with lots of hucking for position. As Green as it Gets came 4th in the 6 team pool and went down to a lower cross over, which we lost. One of our wins was against the eventual winners of the tournament - Baker and Cat Ashton’s stacked team. We also lost to the team that eventually came last, so I guess it was all reasonably closely contested.

It didn’t matter because on Sunday they changed the draw so everyone in the lower pool were given a chance to get into the quarters, which we did. We were down 0-3 and then won 4-3. We also won our quarter, but lost the semi to Baker and Cat’s team, and lost again to Greenie’s team, on universe, in the playoff for 3rd. It was less windy on Sunday, so the games actually involved cutting and were generally more fun.

I drove there in the van full of shit to the Haunted House with Glenn. As always, the Friday night party was pretty good, but this time the Saturday party at the house was better. The Covid Safe Box Licking Game, Liars Dice, and Mike Baldwin’s singing were all hits. Best Terrigal in a while.
